BALKAN WALKS ACCOMODATION AND FOOD
Our Standard hiking groups stay at excellent,
purpose built hostels along the way in dormitories and food is
available throughout the journeys. The individual walker is
responsible for paying for their own accommodation and food.
Prices can vary depending on the time of year but a benchmark
figure for a night at a hostel is between 25 and 35 Bulgarian Leva per person.
Those travelling on a tight budget or fond of
the outdoors may pitch a tent in preference to staying at a
hostel.
Food is available from many outlets along the
way but again, budget travellers may wish to bring their own
food and means of cooking.
Alcoholic beverages are also available on the
walks at our rest stops but the traveller may be warned that
prices can be quite high in the mountains due to the influx of
tourists and may wish to bring their own. As an example, the
price of a cold beer in the mountains can be as much as 3-4 Leva
depending on the establishment and time of year.
